With the NFL and college football once again filling our fall weekends, it’s time for the weekly Tiki and Tierney 6-Pack of Picks, with Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney each making six picks – three college and three pro.
Barber is picking Tampa Bay (+3) at Atlanta, New England (+6) at Arizona and is taking the under for Browns/Eagles (41.5). He also likes UCF (+35) at Michigan, Ohio State (-28.5) against Tulsa and Florida (-17) against Kentucky.
“I’m going to take the Patriots,” Barber said. “I know the Cardinals are better on paper right now. Very good defense, obviously very good offense, and Tom Bardy is not on the New England Patriots’ roster right now. But there is no better-coached team over the last decade in the National Football League than the New England Patriots. ‘Next Man Up’ is a thing that they actually believe in and execute to perfection. They may not win this game, but they’re not losing by two field goals. I’m going to take New England getting six points.”
Brandon Tierney, meanwhile, likes Minnesota (-2.5) at Tennessee, Oakland (+1) at New Orleans and is taking the under for Rams/49ers.
“This is an amazing stat,” Brandon Tierney said. “The Vikings have 14 players last year that played 250 or more defensive snaps. All 14 are back. Great continuity. Conversely, the Titans (have) two new running backs, three of their top four wideouts are new, two new offensive linemen – so it’s new versus consistent and meshing. The Vikings are just very good on defense. I’m going with the Vikings. Tennessee, they are what they are. They’re a bad team. I’ll take Minnesota to win and cover.”
Tierney also likes Middle Tennessee State (+4.5) at Vanderbilt and is taking the under in Ohio/Kansas (59.5) and the over in Louisiana Monroe at Oklahoma State (65.5).
