Separated by the slimmest of margins, Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney are in a virtual dead heat through four weeks in the 6-Pack of Picks. Barber went 2-4 last week, but at 13-10-1 overall, still has a narrow lead over Tierney, who is coming off a 3-2-1 performance that moved him to 12-10-2 on the season.
Looking ahead to this week, Barber likes the Patriots (-8.5) at Dallas, the Browns (+6.5) at Baltimore, and the Saints +5.5) at Philadelphia. He also likes Texas Tech (-10.5) against Iowa State, Tennessee (+3) against Georgia, and New Mexico State (+45) at Ole Miss.
“Tennessee, we know this team,” Barber said. “They’ve been up double digits in three of their losses, but they’re home now. I think they’re going to find a way to finish and we know that they’re desperate. This is the year they were supposed to start competing in the SEC. I think they get it done against Georgia. Yeah, they got Nick Chubb, but they also got Greyson Lambert, who played horrible last weekend. Georgia’s a good squad, but if they can’t run the ball, then they’re not getting it done. I like Tennessee at home getting three points.”
Tierney, meanwhile, likes the Chiefs (-9) against the Bears, the Rams (+9) at Green Bay, and is taking the over in Broncos/Raiders (43.5) and Duke/Army (47.5).
“It’s been a field goal fest for KC,” Tierney said. “They got to win. It’s been three straight losses. I think they destroy the Bears, 40-13 (or) 37-10. The Bears – I told you they’d beat the Raiders this week – but the Bears suck, and I think the Chiefs at least temporarily get on track and I think they destroy them.”
Tierney also likes Colorado State (+15.5) against Boise State and Syracuse (+2) at South Florida.
